Sazerac Antique Collection 2013 Edition Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey 18 Year Old
Out of stock
The famed Sazerac Coffee House was founded in 1850 on Exchange Alley in New Orleans, Louisiana and soon gained fame as the home of “America’s First Cocktail” known as the Sazerac. Using rye whiskey in place of the French brandy, a dash of Peychaud Bitters, and Herbsaint, what eventually became the official cocktail of New Orleans was created. This straight rye has a mellow spice and dry sweetness that dances on the tongue, giving pure delight that is worthy of the Sazerac name.
Tasting Notes: Very mature, with notes of oak, leather molasses and all-spice. The long, warm finish is preceded by notes of mint, eucalyptus, cinnamon, vanilla, and lingering pepper.

Deep burnished amber with coppery-mahogany highlights.
Nose
Very mature on the nose, with plush oak and leather underpinning a dark molasses sweetness and all-spice. Subtle whispers of vanilla, cinnamon and a touch of eucalyptus linger, delivering a refined, spice-kissed bouquet.

On the palate, it arrives very mature and refined: oak and leather underpin lush molasses and all-spice, while a mellow rye spice and a dry sweetness coat the tongue. Mint and eucalyptus lift the mid-palate, with cinnamon and vanilla wafting through, and a quiet, lingering pepper that hints at the 18-year-old pedigree.
