Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich deep amber with coppery glints and a touch of mahogany, a sherry-warmed, sunset-gold hue.
Nose
Powerful peat smoke commands the air, weaving with briny sea spray and iodine. Lacquered wood, mineral snap and a whisper of medicinal herbs form the backbone, while sherry-cask fruit—dried figs, raisins, cocoa—emerges with citrus zest. At 61.6% ABV, the aroma strikes with razor clarity, a coastal, resinous perfume that lingers long and inviting.
Palate
Powerful, peat-driven with coastal brine and iodine that coats the tongue. Oil-rich, with charred oak and a wave of sherry sweetness—raisin, fig, dark chocolate—emerging as the heat lingers. Peppery spice and subtle leather weave through ash and sea-salt, delivering a long, warming finish.
Finish
Long, smoky finish; coastal peat lingers like sea air, interwoven with sherry sweetness. Dark chocolate and dried fig drift with espresso, while peppery, resinous spice threads through. Sea-salt and a whisper of leather remain, leaving a warming, persistent glow that invites another sip.
