Port Askaig Single Cask Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 34 Year Old · 1983 Vintage
Out of stock
A single cask Islay whisky, released by Elixir Distillers under the Port Askaig label. While this is a secret islay distillery, the inference is, that this is a 34 year old Caol Ila. Matured in an American oak bourbon hogshead, its bottled at natural cask strength and is 1 of just 180 bottles worldwide.
A refined and surprisingly fairly youthful nose that combines sweetness in the form of biscuity honeycomb and maltiness along with ashy and bonfire embers, there's also a hint of citrus and grass. The palate is textured with a continuation of the aromas. There also develops a herbal and savouryness, medicinal and tobbaco leaf. The finish is warming, long and earthy.
Beautifully complex and developed.
