Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany undertones and a burnished copper-gold glow.
Nose
Opulent Madeira-driven nose of dried fig, raisin and plum, layered with caramel-toffee and dark chocolate. Vanilla and almond mingle with cedar-tinged oak, while orange zest and subtle nutmeg add lift. A warm resin echoes the cask sweetness, delivering sun-drenched fruit and velvety sweetness with a delicate touch of alcoholic glow.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied and waxy, with burnt-orange zest mingling with dried fig, raisin and date. Layered in are velvety toffee, cocoa and vanilla, lifted by gentle spice and polished oak. A Madeira-driven warmth threads through, delivering a long, warm finish with subtle rancio.
Finish
An opulent, lingering finish driven by ex-Madeira influence: raisin, fig and dark treacle melt into cocoa, orange zest and gentle spice. Silky yet persistent, with warm oak and a lacquered sweetness that slowly fades to a refined, slightly smoky finale.
