Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery shimmer and a sunlit bronze edge.
Nose
Powerful, sherry-kissed nose with concentrated dark fruit—prune, fig, plum—layered with rich toasted oak, vanilla and cocoa. Hints of orange zest and spice add lift, while a touch of sea air and tobacco echoes Oban’s coastal Highland character. The natural strength yields a bold, well-integrated aroma with depth and structure.
Palate
Powerful and luxurious, this 20-year Oban coats the palate with a weighty, viscous texture at 57.9% ABV. Dark oak-driven depth delivers dried fig, raisin, cacao and toasted spice, balanced by subtle vanilla and caramel. A marine whisper of sea salt threads through the mid-palate, with peppery warmth building to a long, warming, oak-inflected finish.
Finish
Long, powerful and refined. The finish unfurls with oak depth and a warming, almost resinous bite, carrying dried fruit and spice into a persistent, coastal-tinged tail. At natural strength, the finish lingers with a polished warmth, gradually fading into quiet, elegant complexity.
