Nc'nean Huntress 2024 - Orchard Cobbler Whisky
Out of stock
The Huntress series is inspired by the Gaelic goddess Neachneohain. This year’s release is named Orchard Cobbler, for its deliciously warming and homely flavours of Cherry Bakewell, apricot marmalade and vanilla custard. This particular Huntress release is incredibly unique, in that the spirit used is only produced once a year when the distillers cross over from one distillation recipe to another.
Although a relatively young distillery, Nc’nean has fast established a reputation for pushing the boundaries of conventional Scotch. Nc’nean runs two different spirits each year; one for Whisky set to be released at a younger age, and one set to be released after ten plus years. The spirit matured for Huntress Orchard Cobbler comes from the distillation in the week after this spirit recipe is switched over; leaving behind unusually high fruity compounds flood into the spirit. So fruity in fact, the Whisky is named after one of the team’s favourite desserts.
Matured in a combination of 66% ex-red wine casks, 31% ex-American whiskey casks and 3% Oloroso Sherry casks.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a coppery glow and ruby-red edge, rich and warm.
Nose
Intense, dessert-bright aroma of cherry bakewell and apricot marmalade, wreathed in almond sweetness and vanilla custard. The red-wine and Oloroso sherry cask influence lends plush berries, raisin and toasted oak, with a creamy vanilla spine and a whisper of spice.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied on the palate, opening with cherry bakewell and apricot marmalade, lifted by vanilla custard. Red-wine cask influence delivers plum and berry sweetness, while ex-American whiskey casks add caramel and cream, with a subtle Oloroso note bringing nutty depth that warms and lingers.
Finish
Long and plush, the finish carries warm cherry Bakewell, apricot marmalade and vanilla custard into a velvet, red-wine-kissed fade. Sherry depth lingers with subtle oak and spice from the American casks, inviting another sip.
