This first edition sets the tone for a vibrant and evolving series of red wine cask finishes from the Lochlea distillery. This first release in the new series was initially matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, with additional finishing in carefully selected Grenache casks. The result is a bright, fruit-forward whisky bursting with notes of summer berries, strawberry shortcake, and sweet vanilla, followed by a finish of spiced biscuits and rich oak.

Copper-amber with a ruby-garnet sheen and a warm bronze edge.
Nose
Bright summer berries—strawberry, raspberry, with a hint of damson—lead the nose, buoyed by creamy vanilla. A subtle spice echoes, while wisps of biscuit and toasted oak hint at the Grenache red-wine finish, preserving the fruit-forward lift.
Palate
On the palate, bright red fruit leads—summer berries and strawberry shortcake—carried by vanilla and toasted oak. Grenache cask finish adds juicy spice and gentle tannins, with biscuity, spiced notes echoing into a warm, lingering finish of oak.
