Bottled in 2021 at 43% ABV, this release forms part of Hinch Distillery’s Craft & Casks series, a range that experiments with finishing Irish whiskey in craft beer barrels. The whiskey is matured in oak before being finished in Imperial Stout beer casks, which previously held stout from Whitewater Brewery in County Down.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, glossy mahogany with ruby-bronze highlights and a near-opaque cola-brown core.
Nose
Fresh orchard fruits lead the bouquet, unfolding into buttered toffee with a whisper of banana. Dark cocoa hints emerge, followed by the promise of heavily roasted coffee just waiting to surface.
Palate
Luxurious mouthfeel with a harmonious knit of light toffee, coffee and vanilla sweetness. Hints of citrus zest and cinnamon spice balance the caramelised sugar, delivering a gentle encore. Dark chocolate notes weave through the finish, impeccably integrated rather than singled out.
Finish
Long, cocoa-dusted finish with dark coffee and roasted malt lingering, mingling with vanilla toffee and caramelized sugar. Subtle orange zest and spice fade into toasted oak, leaving a warm, velvety glow.
