Tasting Notes

Colour

Warm amber with sunlit copper and orange-gold highlights.

Nose

Citrus zest and mandarin blend with vanilla cheesecake, a smoked-biscuit base, a hint of coconut and smoky red apple skins.

Palate

Butter-soft orange shortbread leads the palate, giving way to smoked toffee and heather honey. Ripe figs appear, underpinned by vanillin oak and gentle aromatic spices, finishing with a warm, subtly smoky vanilla.

Finish

Smoky vanilla lingers with praline and honey-baked figs, bright mandarin zest and digestive biscuits, all threaded with smoked butter. A classic Highland Park finish, amplified by buttery vanilla from the ex-Bourbon influence.

(HY-land PARK) Highland Park was founded in Kirkwall in 1798, with the distillery tracing its start to Magnus Eunson, who obtained his first whisky-making licence that year. It remains one of Orkney’s best-known distilleries, and the island setting is central to the whisky’s identity, from the local peat to the maritime climate that shapes maturation.
