Out of stock
Skara Brae is a stone-built Neolithic settlement, located on the Bay of Skaill on the west coast of Mainland, the largest island in the Orkney Islands and here the secret name for a single cask release of..well we think it is a 12 year old Highland Park single malt.
Aged in an Ex-Bourbon cask that yielded just 450 bottles.
Natural colour, non chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV.
Distilled in June 2005
If this is Highland Park then great to try a 100% Ex-Bourbon oak aged version.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with warm honey tones and a subtle copper glow.
Nose
Candied peel and tropical fruit rise with griddled pineapple and creamy vanilla fudge. Subtle floral hints of heather and gorse mingle with a light peat smoke, while a fresh garden-herb lift adds complexity and intrigue to the aroma.
Palate
Spicy citrus and white pepper with vanilla at the core, lifted by smoky heather and herbal notes. Candied tropical fruit mingles with hints of aniseed, green fig and gooseberry, finishing with wine-gum sweetness and a subtle earthy, herbal lift.
Finish
Dry, earthy and subtly smoky, the finish delivers candied peel and green fruit with a persistent white pepper heat, eased by vanilla-tinged oak that lingers long.
