Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden-amber with sunlit warmth and a delicate copper edge.

Nose

Opulent and honeyed, with ripe orchard fruit, vanilla and toffee at the fore. Sherry richness brings raisin, fig and a hint of cocoa, brightened by orange zest and warming spice. A delicate sea-salt edge and gentle oak nuance lend Campbeltown elegance to the aroma.

Palate

Silky, mouth-coating with dried fig and raisin, bright orange zest and creamy vanilla. Sherry influence brings cocoa, almond and a whisper of spice—cinnamon and clove—over toasted malt. The warmth is balanced, unfolding into a long, nutty finish with oak and a suggestion of dark chocolate.

Finish

Silky and long, this finish pours forth sherried sweetness with dried fruits and almond paste. Hints of orange zest and toffee edge the velvety oak, gradually tapering to a warm, lingering spice that invites the next sip.

(HAY-zel-burn) Hazelburn is produced at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown and takes its name from one of the town’s lost distilleries. It was first distilled at Springbank in 1997, adding a new style to a site better known for Springbank and Longrow, and the first Hazelburn bottling followed in 2005 as an 8 Year Old.
