Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with mahogany edges and a warm garnet-tinted glow.
Nose
Opulent sherried aroma with dark raisin and fig, orange zest and a hint of quince. Vanilla, toffee and polished oak weave through, while toasted almond, leather and cocoa spices—cinnamon and nutmeg—add warmth and depth, hinting at decades of refined maturation.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied, this cask-strength Glenugie unfurls with fig and dried plum, layered with treacle and dark chocolate. Sherry maturation lends velvet sweetness and warming spice—clove, orange zest, vanilla—creating a rich, nutty complexity. The mouthfeel is luscious and slightly oily, carrying into a long, warming finish of oak, spice and espresso.
Finish
Long, warming finish weaving oak, spice and dried fruit into a soft, resinous echo. Subtle cocoa and almond linger, slowly yielding to a polished, velvet fade and lingering warmth.
