Glenmorangie Barrel Select - Cognac Cask Finish Whisky 13 Year Old · 2008 Vintage
In stock
This oaky and fruity small batch release results from rare experimentation with Cognac casks. It elegantly unites notes of spice and leather with Glenmorangie's wondrous fruitiness.
Aromas of apple tart and toffee are delectably deepened by a subtle note of forest floor. Then fruity bursts of baked apples, oranges and pears fill the air. A splash of water releases scents of butter candy, more sweet pastry and a touch of beeswax, delicately lightened by mint.
The taste is sweet and almost sparkling - like toffee apples and baked pears scattered with almonds and slices of mandarin orange. That fruitiness is deliciously threaded with the aforementioned clove, star anise and soft hints of leather.
The finish is long, elegant and gently mentholic.

A radiant golden amber, gleaming with honeyed warmth and subtle coppery highlights.
Nose
Apple tart and toffee form a sumptuous core, deepened by a subtle forest-floor note. Fragrant bursts of baked apples, oranges and pears rise in the glass, while a splash of water frees butter candy, pastry and beeswax, delicately lightened by a minty lift.
Palate
On the palate, sweet, almost bubbly tones emerge—like toffee apples and baked pears, studded with almonds and mandarin slices. Fruity core threads through spice: clove and star anise, with soft leather. Subtle butter-candy and beeswax lift the texture, while a breath of mint keeps it fresh, leading to a long, polished finish.
Finish
Long and elegant, with a gentle mentholic lift that lingers. Spiced leather notes weave through a soft sweetness of toffee and baked apples, leaving a refined, airy finish that fades gracefully.
