The very first single cask bottling of Glengoyne by SMWS. The distillery's whiskies arefamously unpeated and this was distilled in July 1996 and bottled in March 2005 at eight years of age. Labelled 'A Fascinating Experiment' this 8 year Old Single Cask was bottled in 2005 having been matured in Bourbon and Sherry Casks. One of 310 bottles.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Pale gold with a subtle amber glow.
Nose
Delicate, unpeated aromas of fresh orchard fruit—apple and pear—lifted by vanilla cream, toffee and creamy oak. A subtle sherry lift adds dried fruits and almond, with a touch of bourbon sweetness and gentle baking-spice, all wrapped in elegant Glengoyne polish.
Palate
Silky and creamy, this unpeated Glengoyne glides across the palate with orchard fruit sweetness—ripe apples and pears—framed by vanilla from Bourbon casks. Sherry influence brings raisins, toffee, and dark chocolate, with almond notes and a whisper of spice. A waxy, mouth-coating richness yields gentle oak and a long, cinnamon-dusted finish.
Finish
Silky, lingering finish of velvet oak and sherry sweetness, with raisins and orange zest. Vanilla-bourbon warmth returns, followed by a gentle spice and a polished almond note that slowly fades into velvety oak.
