Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with warm mahogany undertones and a copper-gold sheen.
Nose
Rich and refined, the nose offers dark fruit—fig, prune and raisin—woven with vanilla, toffee and toasted oak. A delicate sherry lift brings cocoa, orange zest and spice (cinnamon, clove) without sweetness overpowering the wood. Luxurious, resinous, and warmly inviting, with a polished, cask-focused perfume.
Palate
Rich and weighty, a velvety, oily mouthfeel coats the tongue. Dried fruit and fig mingle with toffee and vanilla, supported by warm oak and sherried spice. Espresso and dark chocolate notes emerge, tempered by Glengoyne’s creamy malt. Long, warming finish with orange zest, cinnamon, and a kiss of treacle.
Finish
Long, refined finish with warming oak and creamy vanilla, a thread of toffee and dried orchard fruit. Spices—cinnamon and nutmeg—unfold into almond and cocoa, then linger as a velvet warmth from the cask strength. The final impression is poised and elegant, tapering to a light, polished dryness that invites another sip.
