Glenesk (silent) Duncan Taylor Rare Auld Single Cask #4928 Whisky 20 Year Old · 1983 Vintage
Out of stock
Independantly bottled Glenesk, a rare find from this closed Highland distillery. Bottled by Duncan Taylor as part of their Rare Auld cask strength range.
Distilled 2 years before the distillery's closure and, ironically, one of the few times the distillery was known under the Glenesk name (previously known as Hillside, North Esk and Montrose at various stages of it's life).

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a whisper of mahogany at the rim.
Nose
Opulent sherry-driven nose, with dark plum and raisin paste complemented by fig, orange zest and cocoa. Rich oak supports leather and tobacco notes, while nutmeg and clove add a warming spice. A concentrated, elegant aroma that promises a lush cask-strength profile.
Palate
Sherry-drenched and boldly concentrated, Glenesk coats the palate with dark fruit—prune and raisin—woven with cocoa, caramel and oak. At cask strength, it carries a warming spice backbone of cinnamon and clove, with a touch of leather. The finish is long and velvety, leaving lingering sweetness and a refined, nutty tang.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish of rich sherry sweetness with dried fig and raisin, woven with cocoa and orange zest. Toasted oak breathes through, while a warming peppery fade lingers, leaving a refined, spiced-dried fruit glow that persists with every breath.
