Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep antique amber with a burnished copper-gold glow, the centre rich and mahogany-tinted as light slips through this sherry-cask beauty.
Nose
Honeyed orchard fruits—ripe pear and apple—rise with vanilla and almond. Sherry depth carries raisins and fig, with a hint of cocoa; cinnamon and clove whisper in the background. Polished oak and a touch of leather complete a refined, candle-wax aroma, hinting at decades of maturation.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied, this Glen Elgin unfolds sherry-drenched fruit—fig, raisin, and dark plum—woven with honeyed apple and pear. Cocoa and roasted almond rise with subtle spice notes of cinnamon and clove, all carried on a waxy, oily mouthfeel. The finish is long and warming, with fudgy fruit, leather, and a touch of oak lingering gracefully.
Finish
Long, refined finish: sherry-tinged oak wraps around dark chocolate, dried fig and raisin, with a gentle spice glow that lingers, slowly fading to caramelized toffee and a hint of leather.
