Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery highlights and honey-gold warmth, a radiant glow that speaks of aged bourbon casks.

Nose

Oaky vanilla leads the nose, with coconut, coffee and toffee lending a warm, inviting bouquet that hints at the bourbon cask's generous maturity.

Palate

Silky, full-bodied palate of coconut and vanilla drawn from the bourbon cask, with sweet nutmeg and black pepper weaving through, finishing with toasted marshmallow and a gentle, toasty sweetness.

Finish

Medium-length finish of oak, vanilla and coconut, evolving into a creamy, toasted echo that lingers gracefully.

Girvan
(GIR-van) Girvan was built by William Grant & Sons in 1963 on the Ayrshire coast, reportedly in just nine months, and opened as the largest grain distillery in the world at the time. It was created to secure a reliable supply of grain whisky for the company’s blends, and it remains one of the most important sites in the William Grant portfolio. Although Girvan is less visible than malt distilleries with large official ranges, its role in Scotch whisky has been significant for decades.
