This 2001 vintage Edradour was bottled in 2023 at 21 years old, following a finish in Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 52.1% ABV, this small batch release had an outturn of 1,919 bottles.
Properly mature official Edradour bottlings like this have become increasingly appealing in recent years, especially as more stock laid down after Signatory’s ownership has come of age. Here, the Oloroso finish adds an extra layer of richness to the distillery’s naturally weighty style, bringing together dried fruit, nuts, spice and sweet oak without losing Edradour’s dense, characterful spirit.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a touch of mahogany at the edge.
Nose
Fruity sherry with a minty lift, hints of cinnamon and bitter orange jam, then dark chocolate and molasses.
Palate
Sweet, creamy and very spicy, with dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans, layered with cinnamon, plums, caramel and candied oranges, finished by black tea.
Finish
Toasted coffee and cocoa frame the finish, with cinnamon, licorice and a whisper of sage, then a spicy, dried-fruit warmth that lingers.
