Edradour 200th Anniversary Enigma No.1 Single Cask #355 Whisky Glass Pack 35 Year Old · 1989 Vintage
In stock
The Enigma bottlings show the extremes of maturation conditions. The damp wet dunnage warehouse yields less of a liquid loss but a far greater strength loss. The dry concrete warehouse yields a much higher liquid loss but retains a greater alcoholic strength. This truly is a remarkable Enigma to celebrate Edradour's 200th Anniversary.
Enigma 1 is cask number 335 distilled on 27/09/89 and was matured all its life in a dunnage warehouse. The cask produced 498 bottles at a strength of 52.6% ABV.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber, warm and sunlit with a soft honey glow.
Nose
Rich, honeyed malt on the nose, with ripe apple and pear fruit, dried apricot and creamy vanilla. Subtle oak and caramel-cinnamon spice drift in, while a soft damp-wood earthiness from the dunnage rounds the aroma with refined, old-world warmth.
Palate
Silky and layered, with ripe orchard fruits, dried apricot and fig, carried by vanilla, honey and almond. Rich spice—cinnamon and clove—meets oak in a waxy, creamy texture. Full, warming and sophisticated at 52.6% ABV, finishing with dark chocolate, coffee and a long, nutty-dry fade.
Finish
An exceptionally long, elegant finish that clings to the palate with honeyed malt, citrus zest and toffee. Spiced oak arrives—cinnamon, white pepper, and a hint of leather—then a whisper of almond and warm vanilla. The ABV threads through the final echoes, leaving a poised, resinous warmth that slowly fades.
