Following initial maturation in bourbon barrels, it is predominantly aged in Matusalem sherry casks from Bodegas Gonzales Byass. Tasting notes reveal a complex profile, featuring chocolate, walnut wine, and prunes alongside baked apples and preserved fruit.

Its setting allows the distillery to draw water from the River Alness, while the coastal climate plays its part in the character and ageing of the spirit.
