Dalmore 2017 Release Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 40 Year Old
Out of stock
This 40 year old Highland single malt began its life at The Dalmore distillery in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to 30 year old Gonzalez Byass Matusalem oloroso sherry butts. After seven years in these rare casks, the liquid was given its final flourish in first-fill American white oak bourbon casks prior to bottling in 2017.
Packaged in an impressive wooden and mirrored inlay gatefold box with certificate of authenticity and a sliding tray containing a bespoke business card holder.
For well over a century a variety of fine Dalmore single malts have been crafted by a small band of local stillmen. In particular, on 21st March 1966, Col. H. A. C. Mackenzie distilled and filled to cask what has now become the Dalmore 40 Year Old masterpiece.
Both American White oak and Gonzalez Byass oloroso sherry butts have made their own inimitable contribution.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold glow and a touch of mahogany, a warm, sun-warmed hue that hints at sherry-influenced oak.
Nose
An aromatic symphony of thick orange marmalade and Christmas pudding, with citrus, marzipan and spicy cinnamon, and hints of raisins and caramel figs. Subtle oak notes linger softly in the background.
Palate
Held long on the tongue, this distinguished malt unfurls bold, majestic flavours of thick toffee and dark chocolate, with orange peel and crushed almonds lingering behind.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish with bourbon-kissed warmth and sherry depth. Thick cocoa and toffee give way to orange marmalade, almond and spice, then softly fade to dried fruit, cedar and a whisper of tobacco. A velvet echo of its sherry-bourbon maturation lingers.
