Cotswolds Signature English Single Malt Whisky

Cotswolds Signature English Single Malt Whisky is the flagship expression from Cotswolds Distillery and the first whisky ever produced in the Cotswolds. Made using locally grown, traditionally floor-malted barley, it offers a rich and fruit-forward interpretation of English single malt, combining ripe red fruit, honeyed sweetness and warming oak spice.

The whisky is matured in a combination of highly active STR American oak ex-red wine barriques and premium first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. STR stands for shaved, toasted and re-charred, a cask treatment designed to increase the interaction between the spirit and oak. These red wine casks bring bold notes of berries, plum, treacle and spice, while the bourbon barrels add creamy vanilla, honey and softer oak sweetness.

The aroma opens with raspberries, cherries and ripe plum, supported by honey, vanilla and a subtle touch of treacle. Toasted oak and gentle baking spice develop beneath the fruit, giving the whisky a warm and inviting character.

On the palate, Cotswolds Signature is rich and full-bodied, with layers of red berries, orchard fruit and honeyed malt. Vanilla and caramel from the bourbon barrels balance the deeper wine-cask fruit, while subtle spice and toasted oak add structure. The finish is long and velvety, leaving lingering red fruit, honey, treacle, vanilla and warming oak.

Bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, the whisky is presented at natural colour without chill filtration, preserving its full texture and cask-driven character. It can be enjoyed neat, over ice or with a small amount of water, which opens up more of its fruit, sweetness and spice. It also has enough richness to work well in a premium Old Fashioned or Whisky Sour.
