A big barley/cereal forward Caol Ila, bottled as a 6 year old by TBWC. This is an excellent example of how good a young whisky can be. Rye, sesame and thyme on the nose with an earthy and grassy peat too. The palate is fresh and youthful as you might expect with salted lemon and seawater flavours but it has a nice balance with honeyed barley and ginger notes in the background. The finish is punchy, with an abundance of peat smoke and oaky spice to finish.
