"Buttery, cured ham and some coconut. More fruit on the palate (banana and pear) mellow and soft, with gentle smoke. The contribution from the cask is obvious. Long finish, with some peppere and the peat coming through at the end."
A superb expression from this much loved Islay distillery, the extra aging to 18 years gives an extra mellowness to the smoky finish. This is the older style bottling.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with honeyed warmth and coppery glints, a rich, sunlit glow.
Nose
Buttery, savory aromas of cured ham mingle with coconut, delivering a creamy, lightly tropical bouquet that hints at the mellow, refined smoke to follow.
Palate
Butter-rich and creamy on the palate, with notes of cured ham and coconut. Fruit emerges as banana and pear, soft and mellow, guided by gentle peat smoke. The cask sweetness is evident, lending depth and warmth. A peppery spark grows mid-palate, as peat returns, carrying into a long, refined smoky finish.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with a peppery spark and peat that lingers to the end. The 18-year maturation tempers the smoke into a refined, cask-influenced warmth, leaving a soft, lasting afterglow.
