Caol Ila Flora & Fauna Single Malt Scotch Whisky 15 Year Old
Out of stock
Flora and Fauna, nicknamed by the late whisky writer, Michael Jackson, was a themed series of distillery only single malt whisky releases. Each distillery was given a particular creature as its symbol, which is elegantly displayed on each bottle's beautiful label.
Gradually as distilleries were commercialised, closed or sold, the range of Flora and Fauna contracted, leaving these select remaining bottles collectable. Most often blended, whisky from each of these distilleries is rarely bottled as single malt, making each bottle from this collection even more rare.

Deep amber with golden-copper highlights
Nose
Coastal peat smoke and sea air wash over the senses, with bright iodine and brine. Sherry cask warmth reveals dark fruit, cocoa and toasted almond, while vanilla and subtle oak add elegance. Maritime minerals and a delicate sweetness linger, a refined Caol Ila breeze in the glass.
Palate
Silky peat and sea spray weave through the palate, a briny backbone carrying Caol Ila’s coastal character. Sherry maturity lends dried fig and raisin, balanced by dark chocolate and a touch of toffee. Oak spice lifts citrus zest and vanilla, while saline notes keep it bright. Long, refined finish with lingering smoke, mineral salt and subtle ash.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with sea-salt and ash, carried by subtle sherry sweetness. Peat lingers in rolling waves, revealing dried fruit, cocoa and a polished resin, before fading to a soft saline echo that lingers on the palate.
