Sunlit gold with warm honey tones.

Nose

Bright orchard fruit, lemon zest and green apple mingle with vanilla and a hint of toffee; maritime air, mineral lift, and subtle almond notes from the European cask. Dried fruit emerges softly, framing a refined, coastal sweetness in an unpeated Caol Ila.

Palate

Unpeated Caol Ila, 14 years, matured in first-fill European sherry casks. On the palate: luxurious and richly sweet, with toffee, dried fig and raisin, plus cocoa and vanilla. Spice notes emerge—cinnamon and clove—alongside a subtle maritime edge and a lift of citrus zest. Full-bodied and warming, it finishes with remarkable length and refined oak.

Finish

Long and refined, the finish carries a gentle maritime breeze as vanilla and orchard fruit unfold over toasted oak from first-fill Ex-Bodega European casks. Subtle spice and a touch of dried fruit linger, fading to a clean sea-air echo that lingers with quiet elegance.

Caol Ila
(kowel-EEL-ah) Caol Ila was founded in 1846 by Hector Henderson near Port Askaig on Islay’s east coast, overlooking the Sound of Islay between Islay and Jura. Its Gaelic name refers to that stretch of water, and the site was chosen with access to sea transport and a water supply from Loch nam Ban. Ownership changed early, passing to Norman Buchanan in 1854 and then to Bulloch Lade & Co in 1863.
