Michter’s is now based in Louisville, with production and bottling centred at its Shively facility and Fort Nelson on Whiskey Row serving as its historic downtown distillery. The core range is built around the US★1 whiskeys, including bourbon, rye, sour mash and American whiskey, while Bomberger’s Declaration and Shenk’s Homestead look back to the brand’s earlier names.
Michter’s also puts unusual emphasis on production choices such as toasting barrels before charring, barrelling at a lower 103 proof, heat-cycling warehouses, and keeping its whiskeys either single barrel or truly small batch.
