Michter's US*1 Original Sour Mash Kentucky Whiskey (Includes Hat)
In stock
After disappearing from the market in 1989, Michter’s Original Sour Mash Whiskey made a triumphant comeback in 2012. Earning distinction for its unique taste (thanks to a bespoke grain selection) Michter’s sour mash cannot be categorised as a bourbon or rye. Staying true to the profile and palate of its predecessor, expect sweet, smoky fruit and honeyed vanilla.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich amber with coppery highlights and honey-gold depth, a warm, sunlit whiskey hue.
Nose
Sweet honeyed vanilla dominates the nose, threaded with wisps of smoke. Fruit-forward and grainy, it reveals ripe orchard notes with hints of caramelized pear, a touch of dried fruit, and a subtle oak spice, all riding a creamy, toasted grain veneer that invitingly lingers.
Palate
Silky, medium-bodied palate of sweet, smoky fruit and honeyed vanilla. Orchard notes mingle with a grain-driven sweetness, wrapped in gentle spice and soft oak, finishing warm, gently smoky, and long with vanilla linger.
Finish
Long and elegant, the finish coats the palate with honeyed vanilla and smoky fruit, fading into caramel oak and a gentle warmth, leaving a delicate whisper of spice.
