The Bomberger’s Declaration 2025 Release Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a limited edition in Michter’s Legacy Series, bottled at 108 proof (54 % ABV). The 2025 edition continues Michter’s experimentation with wood, using barrels made from Chinquapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii) whose staves were air‑seasoned for various durations (18 months up to 5 years) prior to toasting and charring. The result is intended to yield a bold, multi‑dimensional bourbon featuring layers of chocolate, floral notes, berries, salted caramel, baking spice, and rich oak character. Named in homage to the historic Bomberger’s Distillery (which later became Michter’s), the 2025 edition is crafted to honour tradition while pushing the boundaries of flavors via wood science and maturation.
