Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery undertones and a luminous orange-gold glow, like sunset on aged oak.
Nose
Peat smoke frames bright orange zest and candied citrus, with mandarin and marmalade notes. Floral clarity lifts the nose, while a trace of iodine and brine nods to the peat. A subtle honeyed sweetness from the oak lingers, giving a sun-warmed fruit nuance.
Palate
Powerful peat opens with a bright orange-wine lift: zesty orange, marmalade and floral notes weave through smoky, medicinal peat. Rich stone-fruit depth and a touch of vanilla coat the palate at cask strength, then give way to a long finish of orange rind, almond and restrained char. The interplay of fruit, smoke and warmth yields a warm, lingering balance.
Finish
Long, citrus-forward finish with bright orange zest and mandarin, tempered by dried apricot as the orange-wine cask influence shines through. A discreet peat kiss lingers, with almond and honeyed warmth and a final mineral, spiced smoke that slowly fades to a clean, lingering glow.
