Colour

Golden amber with coppery undertones

Nose

Fresh citrus zest and green-apple notes mingle with gentle vanilla and honey, edged by wisps of almond and barley sweetness. A subtle sherry influence adds warmed dried fruit and a touch of toasted oak, yielding a lightly spicy, inviting aroma.

Palate

Silky and fruit-forward, this Balblair coats the palate with crisp green apple, pear and orange zest, enhanced by vanilla and a touch of honey. Subtle spice—cinnamon and clove—drifts over toasted oak, shaping a refined sweetness. A poised balance leads to a long, warm finish with citrus, spice and a gentle oak glow.

Finish

Sumptuous sherry-driven finish: plush dried fruit and orange zest weave with cocoa and spice, fading slowly into velvety oak. Warmth lingers, leaving a refined, slightly dry sweetness that coats the palate in lasting, elegant persistence.

Balblair
(bal-BLAIR) Balblair was founded in 1790 by John Ross at Edderton in the Northern Highlands, overlooking the Dornoch Firth. The distillery remained with the Ross family through much of the 19th century, before being rebuilt in 1894 closer to the railway while continuing to use water from the Allt Dearg burn. Later owners included Hiram Walker, and Inver House Distillers acquired Balblair in 1996.
