Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with burnished copper highlights and a mahogany-tinged glow.
Nose
An opulent, dessert-rich aroma of buttery coffee fudge and praline mingles with chestnut puree, caramel wafers and walnut whips. Dried dates, juicy raisins and baked ripe figs glow in honeyed tones of demerara sugar.
Palate
Big, ripe dried fruit on the palate—think well-buttered malt loaf—golden sultanas, raisin fudge, fig jam and sherry-soaked dates. A mellow, chewy, malty body with brambly fruit and a hazelnut-syrup ginger-latte flourish.
Finish
Opens with malt loaf and toffee spongecake, evolving into red jam, praline and toasted hazelnut, then dark chocolate and juicy raisin. A firm, long finish with resonant sandalwood notes and fig rolls dipped in almond milk ginger latte.
