Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep mahogany amber with coppery-red highlights.
Nose
Intense peat smoke and iodine surge from the glass, mingling with sea-salt tar and bonfire embers. Dark chocolate, espresso and dried fig drift through, kissed by vanilla and a sherried fruit glow. A mineral, kiln-warmed edge lingers, announcing a bold Islay storm.
Palate
Explosive peat leads the way with a smoky, medicinal core that grips the tongue. Treacle, dark chocolate and espresso unfold, balanced by sherry-cask richness of dried fruit and fig. Peppery spice nips through the sweetness, while a briny, maritime whisper lingers, finishing long with ash and warming alcohol.
Finish
An immense, smoke-drenched finish that clings with iodine and sea-salt, charcoal ash and bold peat. It slowly reveals sherried dark fruit and cocoa, then settles into a warm, peppery glow that lingers long on the palate, like a coastal blaze fading into the night.
