Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a molten copper-gold glow and a whisper of mahogany, hinting at sherry-influenced warmth.
Nose
A bold plume of peat smoke fills the glass, tarry and medicinal, edged with briny sea spray. Beneath, sherry-derived warmth hints at raisin and fig, weaving with cocoa and vanilla, while a mineral coastal bite keeps the aroma bright, intense and distinctly Islay.
Palate
Volcanic peat smoke coats the palate with medicinal iodine, ash and briny sea spray. Sherry-cask richness threads dark fruit, cocoa and espresso, underpinned by peppery spice and a bold, warming bite. A tarry, citrusy coastal finish lingers long.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with briny Islay notes and ash, tempered by sherry-cask sweetness. Dark fruit, cocoa and spice linger as the heat stays warm, ending in a resinous char that slowly fades to a dry, mineral glow.
