Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with a sunlit glow and a hint of copper.
Nose
Towering peat smoke and coastal iodine rise from the glass, backed by creamy vanilla and caramel from the ex-Bourbon cask. Bright lemon zest and orchard fruit lift the aroma, while sea-salt, toasted oak, and a whisper of cocoa deepen the profile for a bold, aromatic invitation.
Palate
Powerful and velvety on the palate, Ardbeg delivers peat smoke brightened by vanilla and honeyed sweetness from the ex-Bourbon cask. Lithe citrus zest and mineral notes ride a spicy pepper frame, then a long, maritime finish with coastal salt and iodine lingering.
Finish
Long maritime peat lingers with resinous smoke, eased by vanilla and toasted oak from the ex-Bourbon cask. A saline breath and gentle pepper ride the finish, with citrus notes. Warm, mouthwatering and drying to a refined ember-soft sweetness that lingers on the palate.
