17 year old or perhaps even 30 year old Ardbeg unintentionally mixed with 12 Year old Glen Moray, it was an accident just waiting to happen wasn't it? Most of this got drunk so will be a future collectable for sure.
About 16,000 bottles of this 80% old Ardbeg 20% 12 year old Glen Moray were released in 2005.
A soft and fresh mix of Islay and Speyside with the lighter peat of old Ardbeg at the core of this wonderful mistake.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a honey-bronze glow.
Nose
Smoked pears in syrup with chocolate-lime brightness, fresh herbs singed at a bonfire, lemon curd and white pepper. Hints of sourdough, salted almond and a whisper of sooty liquorice complete the aromatic tapestry.
Palate
Almond croissant with salted lime curd, tinned pears in syrup and barley-water squash, guided by subtle smoke and white pepper, with sooty lemon and lingering vegetal and herbal notes in the background.
Finish
Vanilla and lime sherbet dip, more smoked pear in syrup, doughy bread or cake/biscuit mix, lemon barley.
