Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and mahogany edges, a rich, sherried glow.
Nose
Intense coastal peat and sea-salt smoke rise from the glass, tempered by deep sherry sweetness. Dried figs and raisins, dark chocolate, vanilla and a thread of leather mingle with hints of spice, leaving a sultry, resinous aroma that hints at a luxury cask.
Palate
Peat-smoked and maritime, this Ardbeg floods the palate with bold warmth. Medicinal peat and sea-brine meet sherry sweetness—fig, prune and dark chocolate—woven with espresso and black pepper. Velvet fruit rides oak into a polished finish, while iodine and ash linger, carried by a long, warming glow.
Finish
Long, peaty finish infused with sea-salt and iodine, unveiling rich sherry-driven notes of fig, raisin and cocoa. A lingering warmth of spice—cinnamon, clove—drives the finale, leaving a coastal, smoky glaze and a touch of dark oak.
