Colour

Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a smoky, oily sheen.

Nose

Smoke rises in a formidable, cloying sweetness, a heavy, pungent aroma crowned by a distinctive farmyard note. Creosote and tarry rope murmur at the edges, an oily veil of smoke threading through. A splash of water loosens the vapours to reveal dark chocolate cream, laced with smoked artichoke.

Palate

An assertive palate delivers a bitter-sweet surge, ash-dusted coal and a spine of cardamom, peppermint and coffee grits. Clouds of dark chocolate and mentholated eucalyptus roll through, masking the fruit and floral heart. Wisps of aniseed, cinnamon and antiseptic lozenges twist through the finish, leaving a lingering, resinous warmth.

Finish

An elongated finish that lingers boldly, with an almost anaesthetising warmth. Ashy coal dust and peat underscore a dark chocolate and coffee undercurrent, while cardamom, peppermint and a hint of anise linger in a resinous, smoky echo—a finish that slowly fades but never truly leaves.
