Nose
An intense veil of peat smoke rises, mingling with briny sea air and iodine. Citrus zest and a hint of dried fruit from the sherry cask provide brightness, while vanilla caramel and toasted oak deepen the sweetness. Subtle tar, ash and medicinal herbs lend a bold Islay backbone that lingers with coastal complexity.
Palate
Powerful peat smoke coats the palate, with medicinal iodine and sea-salt notes weaving through citrus zest. Sweet vanilla and toffee provide balance as spices, espresso, and dark fruit emerge. A long, mineral finish lingers, buoyed by briny notes and a waxy, oak-driven dryness.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with Ardbeg’s signature peat, iodine and sea-salt, lingering into sweet-charred notes and a drying, resinous warmth that fades with smoky grace.
