Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep coppery-amber with a ruby sheen and mahogany undertones.
Nose
Intense peat smoke leads, layered with iodine and sea-salt brine. Citrus zest and vanilla drift from the malt, while sherry cask notes add fig and dried raisin sweetness. A touch of burnt caramel, cocoa, and a mineral maritime edge round out a complex, smoky nose.
Palate
A dense, maritime palate of ash and peat smoke, tinged with iodine and sea spray, unfolding into dark dried fruit and red berries. Sherried sweetness lends glossy toffee, cocoa and oak spice, while tannins frame a long, warming finish with lingering smoke and polished vanilla.
Finish
Long, maritime peat lingers, carried by sherry sweetness with dried fig and cocoa. A warming, resinous finish emerges with dark chocolate, oak spice, and a whisper of salt that slowly fades.
