Ardbeg Ardbog - Ardbeg Day 2013 Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Out of stock
The 2013 Ardbeg Day Whisky is called Ardbog which was released on June 1st as an Embassy and Feis ile exclusive bottling, all of which looks like they sold out within hours. The contents are a vatting of 10 & 12 year old spirit matured in both Bourbon & Manzanilla wine casks. We tasted it on the morning of release and can confirm that it is much smoother than a typical Ardbeg but with a salty after taste.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep sunlit amber with coppery highlights and a warm, honeyed glow.
Nose
Salty sea air and peat smoke mingle with iodine and a maritime brine. Subtle Manzanilla influence adds almond-like sweetness, vanilla and a touch of dried fruit, while citrus zest and waxy oak lift the aroma. A polished, coastal Ardbeg note that promises balance, depth, and a smoother, refined peat presence.
Palate
Surprisingly smooth for Ardbeg, the palate opens with silky peat and vanilla, followed by coastal brine and a saline kiss from Manzanilla. Nutty almond, citrus zest and a touch of bourbon sweetness weave through the smoke, finishing with a mineral, salt-tinged note that lingers with pepper and sea-air brightness.
Finish
Long, maritime finish with briny peat, mineral salt and a whisper of almond from the Manzanilla; a gentle vanilla-bourbon sweetness threads through before the smoke softly fades.
