"An alligator happy to play with you for a bit before sinking its teeth in. The spices, though big are of the usual Ardbegian understatement."

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper amber with rich mahogany undertones.
Nose
Ripe peat smoke and maritime iodine rise first, lacquered by a sherried sweetness. Dried fruit notes—fig and raisin—appear with vanilla and cocoa, while bold spices—cinnamon, clove, and black pepper—coil beneath, hinting at the feisty Alligator ready to strike.
Palate
Peated vigor at the fore, lifted by sherry-soft sweetness. Dark fruit, cocoa and vanilla unfold, while spices—black pepper, clove, cinnamon—spark warmth without shouting. Salty, maritime notes weave through the middle, and a long, bristly peat finish lingers with restrained Ardbeg assertiveness.
Finish
Long and peppery, the finish carries Ardbeg’s signature peat and coastal smoke well after the swallow. Sherry sweetness threads through the heat, revealing dried fruit and cocoa, then fades to a drying ember, edged by spice, oak and a whisper of maritime iodine.
