West Midlands Distillery Rowielia - Lightly Peated English Single Malt Whisky
Out of stock
Rowielia is the second release from West Midlands Distillery, a lightly peated single malt crafted from two casks: first fill Heaven Hill bourbon and an Islay quarter cask.
Bottled at 51.6% ABV, it retains the distillery’s bold, thick spirit character while introducing gentle peat that opens into rich fruit notes. Designed as an inviting “gateway” style, it balances smoke with sweetness, celebrating the coal, stone and heritage of Rowley Regis from which it takes its Anglo-Saxon name.
With only 412 bottles produced and each hand-painted, this is a distinctive and highly limited English whisky release.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Warm copper-gold with honeyed amber depth and a sunlit glow.
Nose
Warm vanilla and caramel lift from the glass, giving way to a gentle peat smoke that blankets ripe orchard fruit—apple, pear, a hint of plum. Rich bourbon sweetness anchors the aroma, while toasted almond and honey accents shimmer. Subtle coal-mineral notes and a whisper of coastal air knit a refined, accessible peat.
Palate
Thick and creamy on the palate, with vanilla and toffee from first-fill bourbon. A gentle peat lift emerges, opening into ripe orchard fruit—apple and pear with a hint of apricot. The smoke remains refined and sweetly balanced, delivering a long, warming finish that lingers with fruit, spice and a subtle ember of peat.
Finish
Long and inviting, the finish carries a gentle peat echo that lingers with orchard fruit and vanilla. Smoke dries to a mineral, coal-stone backdrop, then fades to warm sweetness and oak spice, leaving a clean, cushioned warmth that invites the next sip.
