Bottled at 46% ABV, this Velvet Fig release from Wemyss Malts is a blended malt Scotch whisky matured entirely in first-fill sherry hogsheads and butts. The small batch produced 9,750 bottles, with the whisky bottled non-chill filtered and with natural colour.
Wemyss Malts are known for giving their whiskies descriptive flavour-led names, and “Velvet Fig” reflects the rich, fruit-forward character drawn from the sherry casks. The whisky combines carefully selected malts from across Scotland to create a smooth, sherried style with depth and balance.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep coppery amber with warm mahogany undertones and a ruby glow.
Nose
A velvet, fruit-forward nose of red berries and blackberries, with figs bathed in milk chocolate and delicate hints of marzipan and walnuts in toffee.
Palate
Luscious fruit flavours—ripe figs, Medjool dates and apricots—intertwine with raisin and sultana. Milk chocolate is spiced with nutmeg and ginger, yielding to sweet chestnut and toasted walnuts in the finale.
Finish
Luxurious wood notes linger, with cinnamon kissing the palate and wisps of pipe tobacco curling into a refined, subtle spice. A long, velvety finish that invites another sip.
