Distillery Bottling

The 18 year old dry single malt whisky enjoys its final maturation in Oloroso Sherry butts.

The Tomatin 18 Year Old is a truly luxurious world-class malt. Matured in traditional oak casks and first-fill Oloroso Sherry butts, dried apricot, nougat and distinctive nutty flavours develop into bursts of tropical fruit with mellow undertones and a rich, full-bodied finish.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a warm mahogany edge—a sunlit bronze glow brought by Oloroso sherry maturation.

Nose

Opulent, refined nose of dried apricot and honeyed nougat, with toasted almond and hazelnut. Subtle toffee and dried fruit mingle with warm spice, while tropical notes and sherry-soaked oak unfold in a luxurious, lingering bouquet.

Palate

Sherry-kissed and velvety on the tongue, this palate unfurls dried apricot, nougat and nutty notes, with almond complexity. Tropical fruit brightness threads through a creamy, mellow midpalate, leading to a rich, full-bodied finish that lingers with warmth and refinement.

Finish

Long, luxurious finish with Oloroso sherry depth. Dried apricot, nougat and nutty warmth linger, giving way to tropical fruit whispers that fade into a mellow, full-bodied, refined finale.

Tomatin
(Tom-AH-tin) Established 1897, the Tomatin distillery can be found in the very remote Highland countryside about 25 miles south of Inverness. Like many distilleries over the years, Tomatin has experienced its share of closures. In February 1986 two Japanese companies (Takara Shuzo and Okura & Co.) purchased the distillery, of which Takara Shuzo proudly remains the majority shareholder.
