Bottled for the Spirit of Scotland range, this 2010 Tomatin was matured in a refill bourbon barrel before being bottled at 15 years old for the UK market. Drawn from cask #4450 and bottled at 58.6% ABV, it offers a brighter, more spirit-led style, with the cask adding structure without masking the distillery’s natural character.
Refill bourbon wood is a particularly good fit for Tomatin, bringing vanilla, orchard fruit and gentle oak to the fore while keeping the whisky fresh and well defined. It makes for an elegant, mature Highland style with plenty of balance and a clean, confident profile.
