Nose

The nose opens to opulent sherry richness: dried fig and raisin with black cherry and orange zest, layered over toffee and cocoa, kissed by toasted oak. Spices—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—join vanilla in a fragrant, brooding perfume of maturity and depth.

Palate

Opulent and full-bodied, this cask-strength Macallan coats the palate with a velvety heft. Dried plum and fig meet orange zest, toffee and dark chocolate, lifted by vanilla and spice. Cinnamon and clove weave through polished oak, delivering a long, warm finish with a subtle sherry glow lingering luxuriously.

Long, sumptuous finish blending dark fruit, orange zest, and cocoa with toffee-drenched oak; a warm cascade of cinnamon spice and refined sherry sweetness that lingers, filling the palate with depth and elegance.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
