This unique single malt was inspired by the Ethiopian Arabica bean. Ethiopia is claimed to be the birthplace of coffee as the Arabica bean was the first species of coffee to be cultivated.

Exuding notes of ground coffee, hazelnuts, sweet raisin and vanilla, this special whisky will transport you into a world of flavour and texture, awakening all of your senses.

The innovative and distinctive packaging has given new life to coffee bean husks, a by-product of coffee production that would otherwise be discarded. The husks were skillfully incorporated to create the presentation box and label, which is made from recycled and repurposed material.

Deep copper-amber with burnished gold tones and mahogany hues.

Nose

Inviting and coffee-driven, the nose pours forward with ground coffee and roasted hazelnuts, mingling with sweet raisin and dark cherry. Vanilla and toffee weave through, while soft oak lends a creamy lift—an elegant, coffee-inspired bouquet that hints at dessert in the glass.

Palate

On the palate, coffee-kissed warmth unfolds with Americano notes framing raisin and cherry sweetness. Soft spices mingle with walnut undertones, while vanilla and oak lend creamy depth. The texture is smooth and round, finishing with a lingering coffee-tinged sweetness and a quiet, elegant spice.

Finish

Lingering coffee bean notes deepen into a sweet, creamy finish, leaving a velvety, coffee-kissed glow on the palate.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
