Tasting Notes
Colour
Dark, polished amber with mahogany depth and coppery highlights; a warm ruby-gold glow hints at rich sherry maturation.
Nose
Opulent sherry perfume—prune and raisin mingle with fig, orange zest, and dark chocolate. Toasted oak, cinnamon, and almond drift through a velvety blanket of toffee and spice, delivering a rich, luxurious nose that hints at glossy, mature sweetness beyond its nine years.
Palate
Opulent and velvety, this ex-sherry Macallan coats the palate with raisin, fig and candied orange peel, touched by dark chocolate and toasted spice (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg). Rich oak and syrupy sweetness fuse into a warming, long finish, leaving a refined, lingering glow.
Finish
Long, sumptuous finish dominated by sherry sweetness, with dried plum and fig, dark chocolate, and a spine of spice. Echoes of polished oak and toasted almond linger, weaving cinnamon and clove into a velvet fade that slowly ebbs into a warm, nutty afterglow.
